We have helped: 


  • HR professionals, corporations, and universities to foster change in the workplace relative to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) by using Creative Arts.
  • Low-income African immigrants, communities, and entrepreneurs. One of our recent clients was a group of immigrant entrepreneurs from Congo, Liberia, Rwanda, and Ghana. Through coaching sessions about where to get resources in Boston, we identified how to overcome language and cultural barriers as they grow their business in our city.

  • Men of color, particularly Black fathers returning home from incarceration through advocacy, building pathways to entrepreneurship, healthy parenting, and starting their own business while supporting their mental health.

  • Faith-based organizations foster race and cultural relevance relative to community engagement, family/youth ministry by using panel discussions, faith talks, and creative arts.

FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT

Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo in Africa, Leonard Tshitenge (he/him) is a dynamic, certified poet approved by the Boston Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture; an experienced speaker; and consultant on the African diaspora. He holds a B.A. in human services; M.S. in psychology/mental health ; and is a doctoral candidate in leadership psychology.

Bilingual, Leonard has a deep understanding of cross-cultural topics as well as emotional and cultural intelligence. He uses an artistic approach to advance the causes of social justice, human rights, and racial equity; and to grow community building while investigating social determinants of mental health.

In 2013, he founded Consciously Exposed Consulting to serve organizations and universities with a keen focus on diversity, equity and inclusion; and to elevate the rights of marginalized people and communities in the United States and across Africa and the African diaspora.

His arts activities, workshops, lectures, and community-building events have proved a successful way of improving human rights. He has helped create more empathetic, equitable, and prosperous communities by enabling organizations to elevate the cultural intelligence of diverse consumers.

My Legacy

Founding Consciously Exposed was just one step I have taken to elevate the rights of marginalized people and communities in the United States. My workshops, seminars, lectures, and community-building events have been a successful way of improving human rights. As such, I have helped create more empathetic, equitable, and prosperous communities by enabling companies to elevate the cultural intelligence of diverse consumers.

My Achievements

I use an artistic approach to advance the causes of social justice and social issues and grow community building while investigating social determinants of mental health. I was the keynote address speaker and featured writer at the Bridgewater International Poetry Festival in 2017.


I have held diverse events, including arts/culture, entrepreneurship events, in which I bridged cultural inequities and political gaps between members of:

  • African Diaspora Groups
  • State Officials
  • Academics
  • Faith Leaders
  • Business Communities

I assisted these communities to achieve:
